ABOUT

My name is Hannah Eaves and I have built a career creating platforms to further the work and impact of storytellers.

In my work ideating, building and leading innovative products and teams I have partnered with agile and ambitious startups, mission-driven foundations, established media brands, and large multinational powerhouses. Working is doing, and to understand my work please take a look at my portfolio.

Born and raised in Australia, I bring a love of travel and curiosity to everything I do.

Some of my personal highlights include:
-
Acting as Co-Director on a VR project at the Sundance Film Festival;
-
Being proposed to at the bottom of a pyramid in Egypt;
-
Covering the Cannes Film Festival as a film critic, and;
-
Hearing stories of journalism's positive impact from reporters around the world in Johannesburg and Amsterdam for my work with the Gates Foundation.

As a product leader I have structured and facilitated HCD innovation intensives, set strategies and roadmaps, conducted qualitative and quantitative research, and leveraged data through visualizations and dashboards. Nothing gets done without buy-in, and bringing leaders along on the journey is a key part of getting ambitious projects and features launched. Translating between research, design, engineering, and leadership teams is core to my approach. Everyone is most effective when they are excited.

In my current position as Head of Product Innovation at the Association of Independents in Radio (AIR) I have launched the training and mentorship platform SoundPath.co. The program I'm most passionate about is Edit Mode, a story editing intensive and apprenticeship program for traditionally underrepresented voices. We worked collaboratively on our core values, which reflect my own.
I have also had the privilege of engaging with the community as a mentor and judge for initiatives such as UC Berkeley's Big Ideas Contest and the Knight News Challenge.
